Megan had her 18 month well-baby visit today. As soon as we stepped into the exam room, she began to panic and cling to me. I've been trying to teach her to jump - which she loves to attempt, but her feet have never yet left the ground. Well, today, as soon as I tried to leave her on the scale/table...Megan scrambled to her feet, running and screaming, while the nurse is trying to read the jiggly scale...and leapt off of the table into my arms. Ok, maybe that doesn't really count as her first real jump, but it made me laugh.
As soon as we finished with each step of her appointment (including her shots), the nurse and I would say "All done!" and Megan, with tears in her eyes and quivering lip, would begin to clap. She was just cracking us up...even though I think I have bruises on my arms from Megan trying to grab and hold onto me so tightly!
Since her 15 month appointment, Megan grew a whole inch: now 28 1/2 inches and gained 12 ounces: now 18 pounds, 12 ounces. Megan's pediatrician told me that she is below the 5th percentile for all measurements, but (once again) that she is petite but continuing in upward growth as she should. He is very kind and always tells me the "petite" line in a don't-worry kind of way...even though I've never been concerned about that percentile stuff. Who cares, really?? As long as my child is growing and healthy, does it matter? True, I'm no doctor, but Megan seems pretty active and healthy and normal to me...? :-)
Megan's lungs are certainly healthy! She got 2 shots today...but, they're the last she'll get until she's 4!! Yay! As with her 15 month appointment, I don't think the shots bothered her too much -- it was being held down on the table that terrified her! Now we get to start the whole process over with baby boy!! Megan won't have to endure shots for a few more years, but she'll get to come and watch her baby brother...oh dear. I'm beginning to think doctor's visits are not going to be joyous occasions.
I'll leave you with a few pictures...

Have a great week!
