Megan's Birthday Wishes...

*New Video*

Just posting a video of Megan with the giggles. She LOVES that bouncy ball that Sandy the nurse gave her at her 1-year doctor's appointment. She plays with it all by herself...but, when daddy bounces it...that brings on the giggles!! Notice the path of tupperware and toys she has to wade through! It'll be nice when she learns to pick up her own toys...oh, wait! If you watch closely, she DOES know how to pick them up to get out of her way!

She moves too quickly!!!

I'm taking fewer pictures, because Megan moves too much! It's hard to get a good shot when she's playing!

Here's one that kinda shows what I was trying to get! She discovered a clothespin and thought that was the funnest thing! But, the funnier thing was, the ribbon of her saggy birthday balloon got tangled around toes on both feet...and, she walked around the house for a good 10-15 minutes like that, dragging the balloon and talking and shaking her clothespin the whole time. What a silly girl! Gave me a good giggle!! :-)

Love her brown eyes!!

Have a great weekend!

Another week gone...

...and, nothing really new with us. Megan's tooth is still peeking through...but, hasn't really come up any farther. Not picture-ready yet. She's been a great helper to mommy - especially with the laundry. She loves to dump all the clean clothes on the floor and then move on to something else. Leaving mama to pick it up....only to have Megan come right back and take each article of clothing out, piece by piece, and drop it on the floor. This goes on until naptime when I'm supposed to get it all folded (notice I said, supposed to!)

Well, yes, I guess Megan has done something new. She's just started waving "hi" and "bye-bye." She and I went shopping today, and she waved at all the cashiers. It was pretty cute -- usually, everyone in the store tries to get her to smile and Megan just stares them down. But, today -- rare form! Smiling and clapping and waving at anyone who would look at her! Cracked me up!

Here are a few pictures from our visit with Grandpa and Grandma P on Saturday:

Enjoy your week! We plan to!

Monday

We had another wonderful day together on Saturday. Now that Megan is more of a "little person" rather than a baby, we're trying to make the most of what little free time Ben has to spend together - just the three of us. We didn't do what we'd originally planned to do; we ended up "adventuring" as we call it. That means, just driving around! :-) Ben loves to show me things he's found out on his deliveries...so, we love to go exploring! Megan still enjoys riding in the car for now, so we think she had fun, too!

On the way home, we stopped at a model home place. I loove walking through model homes...Ben would rather go fishing! But, he humored me...(and, to be honest, I think he actually had fun!) :-) Megan was so fun to watch as she toddled around the houses opening cupboards and peeking in closets.

Here are a few pictures....

We stopped at a parking area for Megan to stretch her legs:

I just LOVE this picture! See Ben behind the tree? Megan was just a'squealing and clapping at how silly daddy was being! He played peek a boo and ran from tree to tree...Megan thought it was hilarious.

Megan exploring her new house... (wouldn't that be fun if it were for real!?)

Today is our regularly scheduled shopping day. Walmart will get the bulk of our business today...it'd be terrible to run out of toilet paper! Hope you all have a great week!

Megan at the doctor's...

Megan's 1-year appointment went well today. She is 17 1/2 lbs and 27 1/2" tall. That's a pound and a half and an inch and a half in growth since her last well-baby visit. Megan had to get her finger poked to check her hemaglobin and made not a peep! (That's mostly just to make sure Megan's not anemic or anything...she's not; she's fine). Megan did, however, cry a bit after her 2 shots - but, stopped crying as soon as Sandy the nurse pulled a bouncy ball out of her pocket and gave it to her.

Megan got the ok to start whole milk. No more formula mixing for mommy!! I gave her some milk this afternoon, but, she didn't seem too enthusiastic. It may take a few days of convincing! :-) We don't need to see the doctor again until Megan is 15 months old.

Here are a few pictures from this afternoon:

(Don't you know this is how you play with Fisher Price Little People?)

Oh yes!! Megan DOES finally have a tooth coming!!! It's very hard to see...but, VERY easy to feel! A sharp little bump on her bottom middle right gum! I saw it fleetingly (then felt it) on Sunday morning. As soon as it pops all the way through, I hope to get a toothy grin picture! :-)

Megan's Birthday Picnic

We had a small birthday party for Megan on Saturday. Both sets of grandparents and our friends, Al and Rachael with their children, helped us celebrate. We had a yummy picnic spread - which Megan didn't really eat. But, she enjoyed her own birthday cupcake as well as some ice cream cake that mama shared with her!

Here are some pictures (and a *new video* - above) for you to enjoy!

And, my favorite picture of all -- Megan got all these fun new toys for her birthday, but, what does she decide to play with this morning?! An empty coke bottle!!! lolol!! What a silly girl!

An absolutely HOT HOT day is forecasted today! A/C's been on as soon as Megan and I got up this morning. We will stay inside and enjoy every minute of the cooler air!! Tomorrow, we'll have to brave the elements - only for the morning, though. Megan has her one-year doctor's appointment. Then, we will come straight home and continue to enjoy our a/c!

ONE!!!!

At 9:42 a.m., Megan will officially be ONE YEAR OLD! I can't believe it!! Both Ben and I have said many times that this first year of her life certainly went by much faster than those 10 months we had to wait for her arrival!

Happy Birthday, dear sweet Megan!! Happy Birthday to you!!

We hardly remember our lives before Megan came! She is truly a blessing from the Lord and has brought us so much joy. We are so thankful for her, and are excited to watch her continue to grow and change.

What a difference a year makes!

I also wanted to send special first birthday wishes to Megan's birthday buddy, Emma! Happy Birthday, Emma!!! You can check out her family's site here.
