Weekend with the grandparents...

Megan got to spend the weekend with BOTH of her grandpas and grandmas...and she loved it! She had people here to entertain her every second! I'm pretty sure the grandpas and grandmas loved it just as much! Megan's pretty entertaining herself! :-)

Had to share...here's what Megan's hair looks like when the waterspout comes out - got herself a little mohawk! lol!

Playing with her new ball from Great Grandma Y and Ansel...

Another warm, sunny day today! For now, the house stays pretty cool with just the fans until about 3-4 pm. If we keep having weeks of 80 degree days, Ben'll have to get the a/c in soon!

K, that's all for today! Hope you all are doing great!

7 Years and Happy Memorial Day!

Ben and I celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary yesterday. Hard to believe that so much time has passed since that day! The Lord has truly blessed me with a great guy and I love him more than ever!

Here's a picture from last Memorial Day...

And, this year (thanks, Nana!):

I saw this dress at a consignment shop I visit...I had to buy it for Megan! You can't beat $3 for something that cute! Megan, of course, is priceless! :-)

Always helping mama...this time, cleaning out her pantry - without even being asked!! lol

Trying to smile through a sleep haze; she fell asleep in her highchair:

Daddy giving Megan a ride in the laundry basket:

Wheeeee! Fun!

And the biggest news of all: MEGAN WALKED last night!!! Three steps to Grandma W (they're here for a Memorial Day visit) and then five steps to Daddy! We cheered and cheered, but, Megan just looked confused! I'll be ready with the camera in the next few days to catch a video of some of her first steps. YAY!

A busy week ahead!

Spring cleaning in full swing...ok, I haven't really started yet - but, I will be! A rolloff dumpster is being delivered today - we're cleaning house!! Mostly our yard, basement, and back porch, but, while it's here, I'm opening the cupboards and closets and getting rid of things I just don't use anymore! If you want something, you'd better yell now...because I'M THROWING EVERYTHING OUT!!!! :-) So, all free time when Megan's napping this week will be spent getting dusty and dirty!

I posted a new video of Megan from Saturday. We went out and visited Razor...she just giggled and squealed. She scared Razor to death! lol! (What a good watchdog!!) lolol!

(We had a busy day Saturday)...

Megan went to her first Ladies' Tea at church. Everything was so pretty, but Megan seemed to only care about her sweet potato puffs.

Then, when we got home...daddy was mowing the lawn, so we stopped to visit Razor - see video. :-)

Then, daddy gave Megan a ride on the tractor (mower off!)

Then, we saw a BEAUTIFUL rainbow out our front door! If you look closely, you can just see a double rainbow in the first picture:

Megan before church Sunday morning...

Ok, those are all the pictures I'm sharing for now! I promised to spread them throughout the week...but, I have a date with a dumpster! :-)
Have a great week!

Just a new video...

I decided to get out one of Megan's walker toys today...no instruction needed! Off she went!

I have several more pictures and videos just from this weekend, that I'll share throughout next week.

Leaving you with two pictures of Megan and Daddy from today:

And...here's Ben's spring turkey that he got Thursday morning - there's quite a story to the kill, but isn't there always? Ben says it's a small turkey...but, it looks pretty big to me!:

It's WARM here!

Our thermometer reads 88 degrees! It's a bit warm! Tomorrow's high is only 66...what a rollercoaster! But, for today, we've got all the fans going. It's a bit breezy outside, so that helps, too. Megan and I went outside for a brief visit to Razor (*new video*), but we didn't stay too long. Megan doesn't keep hats on her head, and I haven't bought any sunblock for her yet.

Megan has learned how to operate the cupboard doors! She discovered my baking racks the other day...boy, did she think they were fun! The pots and pans (and lids) are in the drawer beneath the oven, so she can't make music with those, yet.

Grandpa and Grandma P got me this cute outfit...complete with matching hat:

There's a bit of growing room to the shorts...lol:

I can stand all by myself!!!

Mother's Day Weekend

Another busy weekend for us. On Saturday, we spent much of the day at our friends' Ray and Sabrina's farm. Megan got a special tour of the barn and got to see chickens, turkeys, and pigs. She was very unimpressed with the pigs. She thought they were quite smelly and had a very pained look on her face to tell us so! :-)

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all of you moms out there! I hope you all had a nice day with your families. Mother's Day was special for me this year. Megan was here to share it with me. We spent the morning at church. "My" kids' choir sang "Follow On" for their moms and they sounded great! Pastor preached on the qualities a godly woman should have from Titus 2:3-5. A great reminder kind of message. Then, Ben took me out for lunch. We went for Chinese...yum! Megan enjoyed sharing our plates. Because I forgot to taste it first, she thought General Tso's chicken was a bit too spicy...but, she loved the chocolate pudding! lol! :-)

Here are several pictures from the weekend:

Grabbing daddy's pizza right off his plate! Megan thought it was very tasty and wouldn't give it back!

Enjoying the fresh air at Uncle Ray and Aunt Sabrina's:

Spending time with one of her many "cousins," Sam:

Megan's favorite part of the day...her very first lollipop! Given to her by Uncle Ray, of course! She doesn't know he gave her a spittail...and, that her ribbon is all undone! Even if she did, I'm sure she'd forgive him for another lollipop!

Fun in the Sun

Megan and I have spent some time outdoors this week. It has been soo beautifully gorgeous out! Both Megan and I are loving the nice weather.

Yes, yes, I know!

Megan turned 10 months old yesterday...and, I don't have a good picture. These are all we've been able to come up with so far:

lololol!!

She now moves constantly, so I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get what I want! I'll try again this afternoon or tomorrow!

Adventures in eating...

Over the last several days, Megan's been trying out some new foods. Yesterday, she tried bananas and mandarin oranges. She LOVED them both! I bought this mesh feeder thing that is supposed to reduce the risk of choking. You put the food in the mesh bag and the baby chews through the mesh. I've heard both good and bad things about it, and wasn't sure if it'd work. But, Megan seemed to like it and ate the whole banana - between the feeder and the little chunks I gave her. She also created quite a mess... :-)

We've also tried cheese slices, sweet potato puffs (a ploy by the baby food industry to buy their expensive stuff instead of plain ol' cheerios! lol), yogurt (peach - yuck; strawberry - yummy!), and vanilla pudding. Megan's also gotten a few tastes of Mommy and Daddy's supper plates - everything from pasta salad to ham and potatoes to tuna helper to pizza (we refrained from giving her a lick of chicken wings!). So far, no upturned nose yet!

If you haven't already, check out the *new video* of Megan cruising along the couch.

Here are some pictures of Megan enjoying her banana yesterday:

It's May! Yay!

May is full of great things -- tulips, lilacs, the smell of freshly cut grass, spring thunderstorms, Mother's Day, our wedding anniversary... Yay for May! :-)

Here's Megan on Monday night, waiting for daddy to get home from work:

Oh, yes...just a little something I've been meaning to post for quite awhile now. I've received this twice already as an email and found it pretty funny. Can't bring myself to forward it...because I hate forwards!

WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT THE INTERNET?!

1. Go to Google Maps
2. Under the search bar, choose "Get Directions"
3. Get directions from New York, NY to Paris, France
4. Scroll down and read step 24.
5. If you laugh (or even crack a smile), share it with someone else. :-)

Have a happy day!
